"Bran Nue Dae" Perth auditions
Auditions will soon be held for the Perth shoot of the Western Australian feature film Bran Nue Dae. The producers are looking for Indigenous males in two age groups: 45 and over and 12-18 year olds. The auditions will be held in Perth around November 13 with more casting calls to be announced soon.
Based on the original stage musical by Jimmy Chi and his band Kuckles, director Rachel Perkins (Radiance, One Night the Moon) co-wrote the film script with Western Australian screenwriter and playwright Reg Cribb (Last Train to Freo).
Actors and aspiring actors who are interested in auditioning for roles will join the existing cast including Oscar winner Geoffrey Rush, Ernie Dingo and Missy Higgins. The film commenced principal photography in Broome on November 3.
