Landmark series “First Australians” launched

SBS's landmark documentary series First Australians, is scheduled to broadcast on SBS from October 12. Episode five features several stories from Western Australia's Indigenous history.

Directed by Rachel Perkins, the WA episode includes the story of Jandamarra and the Kimberley Cattle industry as well as ‘The Stolen Generation'. The WA episode screens October 26.

The series was launched at the Sydney Opera House in September. Three Indigenous Western Australian's interviewed in the series - Noel Nannup, Phil Prosser and Sam Dinah - attended the launch with the support of ScreenWest.

Also interviewed in the WA episode are Dillon Andrews, Howard Perdersen, Steve Kinnane, Marcia Langton, Gordon Brisco, Hanna Haebich, Doris Pilkington, Jerry Warber and Sue Gordon.
