Purpose and Scope:
ScreenWest provides support annually for one early to mid career producer to work at ScreenWest as a Producer Associate. The Producer Associate is contracted for one year to work with the Director of Production Development to advance Western Australia as a competitive, creative and culturally distinctive centre for screen production.
The Associate position is an excellent opportunity for Western Australian screen practitioners to gain fast-tracked practical experience with a range of screen industry funding processes, including:
- Collating production funding applications;
- Taking part in funding assessment processes;
- Analysing production reports;
- Providing background research for ScreenWest policy and strategy development;
- and the ScreenWest liaison for practitioners, particularly for the early and emerging sector
Successful applicants are selected by a Panel convened by ScreenWest. Applicants are required to provide both written and oral responses to a set of selection criteria.
The Producer Associate is contracted as a member of ScreenWest staff during their internship. They are paid a salary and receive public service entitlements during this period.
Eligibility:
The position is only open to Western Australian resident filmmakers who have some producing experience. Please refer to the General Guidelines for a definition of WA residency.
