A3.6 TV Co-Productions
Purpose and Scope:
ScreenWest Television Co-Production initiatives are developed to provide Western Australian production companies with the opportunity to produce a nationally broadcast television series and to provide emerging filmmakers with broadcast experience.
These initiatives are developed in association with national broadcasters and often other State and Territory funding agencies. WA production companies submit proposals for the initiative and the successful project is chosen by the broadcaster in consultation with ScreenWest. Emerging and mid career practitioners are then employed to develop and produce the series.
A number of innovative and quality productions have been developed through this initiative including; the ABC series Give Me a Break (Artemis International), the SBS series Marx and Venus (Taylor Media) and the ABC series Can We Help (Circling Shark Productions).
The latest Television Co-Production Initiative was for series 2 Destination Australia.
